The Quality Promise
We enact a number of measures to provide the highest quality animals possible. Our colonies are closed and as a standard require rederivation before entry to minimise the risk of introducing disease. We have a detailed quality control program including health screening, genetic testing and phenotype monitoring. Our on-site veterinary supervision and standardised procedures for breeding and maintenance ensure consistency of product. The purpose-built, dedicated animal facility provides a controlled thermal environment and HEPA-filtered fresh air. While these control measures cannot prevent biological or animal-based variation, we strive to provide excellent customer service to keep you informed and stress-free.
The Animal Resources Centre is ISO9001:2008 accredited and produces a variety of rat and mouse research models under regularly audited Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions. The Animal Resources Centre is an authorised breeder of selected mouse strains derived from pedigreed stocks from The Jackson Laboratory and may supply these strains to researchers in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand and Singapore. Animal welfare is a constant consideration at the Animal Resources Centre. Production colonies are monitored monthly to minimise overproduction and strain-specific statistics are reported to the AEC. We are dedicated to ethically supporting the biomedical research industry.
The Animal Resources Centre is a proud Registered Training Organisation and all animal technicians are offered on-site Certificate III Animal Technology training. We are dedicated in our support of the biomedical research industry.
